OUR STORY... so far
CMthrive was not born in a strategy session around a church staff conference table.
It was forged around dinner tables, in break rooms, on park benches, and in living rooms filled with Disney Cast Members asking honest questions about identity, purpose, and belonging.
Cast Member Church began as a traditional church plant.
We followed the training.
We built gatherings.
We created systems.
We believed that if we did church well enough, disciples would multiply.
They did not.
What we unintentionally built was a safe and compelling environment for Christians. And very few were moving toward those who had no awareness of Jesus.
We had created a community without catalytic movement.
Encouragement without outward momentum.
Belonging without multiplication.
And if you are a pastor who feels that tension, you are not alone.
You are not unfaithful.
You are not lazy.
You are not failing.
You are likely leading inside a system that naturally gathers believers but does not purposefully release them.
That realization was both confronting and freeing:
Were we discipling people into participation in church activity rather than participation in the harvest?
That question dismantled our assumptions.
We realized we were inviting people into our environment instead of entering theirs.
So we stopped trying to appeal to Christians and started cultivating Kingdom expressions among those who didn't know Jesus at all.
In that shift of focus, we learned that the best fruit grows in the soil of the specific, simple, small, and slow, not in the pressure of scale, speed, and spectacle.
We began cultivating what we now call the sacred work of relationship, a way of life shaped by presence rather than programming and rooted in real lives instead of scheduled events.
Out of that lived experiment came very simple, reproducible tools that any follower of Jesus could use and teach others to use: The Quest Compass, The Five Doors of Connection, The Jesus Pathway, Culture Code, The Kingdom Spiral, Jesus Conversations, 3●2●1, Place, Space, and Grace, Parachute Drop, The Spark, and more.
For nearly fifteen years, this has been a living laboratory among thousands of Disney Cast Members across six continents and more than a dozen languages, most with no previous Biblical or church foundation to rely on.
When you remove inherited church culture, you quickly discover what is essential and what is optional.
What emerged was not a new program. It was a paradigm shift.
Discipleship that begins with presence.
Trust that forms before truth is explained.
Conversations that unfold before conclusions are drawn.
And here is the hope.
Faith becomes embodied.
Influence becomes decentralized.
Momentum becomes organic.
The harvest hiding in plain sight becomes visible.
CMthrive is the distilled fruit of that reformation.
It is designed for pastors who are weary of maintaining environments and ready to release catalysts.
It is also designed for leaders who sense that the future of the Church will not be sustained by attracting consumers, but propelled by equipping disciples to live as Kingdom expressions in the places they already are.
That's our story so far.
Perhaps you are part of what comes next.
